Magellan RoadMate 1700LM 7-Inch Portable GPS with Lifetime Maps

I purchased this GPS for its large display... and large it is! My prior GPS was a top-of-the-line Garmin Nuvi unit. This GPS is very basic in terms of features when compared to other GPS' nowadays. There are no choices for colors and just a few for sounds. It does not have traffic info or other such features. But if you are looking for a good basic GPS with a terrific display, this is the one you want. The display is massive, bright and sharp. Entering favorite addresses can be done through your PC using the Content Manager or directly into the GPS. This unit is very easy and intuitive to use and accomplishes its intended purpose (getting you to your destination) very, very well.

This is a great GPS unit. I bought it as a volunteer firefighter to help get me to locations quickly. I can have an address in and directions on the screen in around thirty seconds. Updates map quickly. I have this in a Mazda tribute, which is a smaller SUV and it does not take up too much space. I can quickly take it with me too another vehicle also. We may install them in all our apparatus. Also rated very high on consumer reports. Definitly a great buy. No squinting to see letters and numbers.
